  Question

I've heard both good and bad things about the use of fluoride. Why does Tom’s use this ingredient?

  Answer

Most of the debate surrounding fluoride has to do with the controversy around whether or not municipalities should fluoridate their water supplies. While we don't want to get into that debate here, we can certainly tell you about the use and safety of fluoride in our toothpaste and mouthwash. We use this ingredient because fluoride is a proven decay preventative that has been found safe and effective by the Food and Drug Administration. We also realize that not everyone wants or needs fluoride in their oral care products, so we also offer toothpaste and mouthwash without fluoride.
